माँ कसम!… आज तक जितने भी कमाने बाकी थे, आज वसूल हो गए… धन्यवाद मोदीजी!

Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now that time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially.

What India witnessed today on 8th November 2016,  was no redemption of any tryst, in fact there was nothing clandestine about it, ever. Close to 70 years of free, individual existence and aspirations of few generations having passed by unfulfilled, this is a redemption of what the great Bal Gangadhar Tilak had termed as our Birthright – Swaraj! It doesn’t just mean independence from a foreign rule, it means independence from everything that enslaves us. As is being experienced today, the modern day evils enslaving are – Terrorism, Corruption, Poverty, Social imbalance and the list goes on.

Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, has taken one of the boldest steps ever, in history of this world perhaps, at least since “money” became the medium of exchange. It is the first time a government in power, with unchallenged majority has chosen to shake the entire system to ensure that all the ugly forces of today. Right from gargantuan policy changes, to inclusive growth policies. From focus on the handicapped to focus on diversity. From focus on cultural inclusion, to focus on religious inclusion. And today, a tactical offensive on the medium that allows the biggest evils of modern day to grow exponentially – Black Money/Corruption.  They are doing this instead of focusing on securing their personal future favoring corporate sector in return of future postings or taking populist measures to appease vote banks to ensure future wins. This while the corrupt, greedy, money grabbing breed of individuals at the cost of social breakdown or be it the terrorists and extremists, have been squeezing the fun out of life for the entire mankind, like they owned this mother-ship, our planet. Here is our real life super hero willing, daring and intelligent enough to start such bold & effective counter measures!

This is NO EASY STEP, mind you, although the element of surprise has definitely given the government machinery a head start and put all the culprits, their networks, their godfathers, everyone on a back foot. Had the government been any more lenient in announcing this surgical attack on the parallel economy, they would’ve been at a disadvantage from the word go. However, a master planner that he is, our Hon. Prime Minister has yet again executed this master-stroke with immaculate timing and enough thought behind the possible fallout of such a massive policy change.

I cannot finish without a mention of the self-less team, who perhaps laid the seed of this idea or at least lobbied for it all these years, with a well thought out and eventually evolved concept of transforming the Indian economy in to a cash-less economy. Which evidently becomes a much more transparent, accountable and controllable one too.
